Our Mission
The Ironbound Business Improvement District (IBID) is dedicated to improving the economic vitality and quality of life in Newark's Ironbound district. We focus on sanitation, marketing, security, and preserving the rich cultural heritage that makes our community unique.
Ironbound History
Known for its diverse immigrant roots, the Ironbound has been a thriving hub for the Portuguese, Spanish, and Brazilian communities for decades. Originally an industrial powerhouse, it has transformed into a culinary and cultural destination.
