CITY OF NEWARK CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION TO START
ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, AND RUN THROUGH WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22
Dried-out trees are a fire hazard and should be recycled;
All ornaments and lights should be removed from trees before discarding.
Newark, NJ – January 6, 2023 – The City of Newark will begin Christmas tree collection on Wednesday, January 18, and continue through Wednesday, March 22. Residents discarding trees should also remove all ornaments and lights. All such Christmas trees must be natural (non-artificial).
Residents should dispose of the tree when it begins dropping needles. Dried-out trees are a fire hazard and should not be left in the home, in the garage, or placed outside against the home.
The Division of Recycling is providing the following schedule for tree collections:
· Zone A:
o Wednesday, January 18
o Wednesday, February 15
o Wednesday, March 22
· Zone B:
o Wednesday, January 25
o Wednesday, February 22
o Wednesday, March 22
Residents should place their trees at their curbside by 6 a.m. on the morning of their scheduled pick-up.
