CITY OF NEWARK REMINDS RESIDENTS: ALL NON-UNIFORMED CITY SERVICES
INCLUDING MUNICIPAL COURT WILL BE SUSPENDED
IN OBSERVANCE OF CHRISTMAS ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 26
Garbage collection and street-sweeping services will be suspended; recycling pick-up is unaffected
Police, fire, and other uniformed emergency services will be unaffected

Newark, NJ – December 23, 2022 – Mayor Ras J. Baraka reminded residents today that City of Newark non-emergency municipal services will be suspended on Monday, December 26, for the observance of Christmas. Police, fire, and other uniformed emergency services will be unaffected. Street sweeping is suspended, and curbside trash collection will not be made on Monday, December 26. Recycling collection is unaffected.

Municipal garbage collection will resume in Zone A on Thursday, December 29.

The Municipal Court will also be closed on Monday, December 26. However, a judge will be available to preside over bail hearings for defendants in custody, on Monday, December 26. Residents can make payments on parking and traffic tickets through the website www. (https://www.cookwarejunkies.com) njmcdirect.com. To utilize this website, residents will need their summons number, including the prefix, and the City of Newark’s court code, which is 0714.
